Earning Brownie Points

Brown is the unsung hero of the color world. What is typically looked at as unappealing should instead be looked at as a warm, inviting note to add to any setting. Here's a few items that we think would work great as main or accent pieces!

Benjamin Moore Paint in Kendall Charcoal

Most people hear brown and immediately think of chocolate brown. While a lovely shade, there are so many more versions of brown. We love this smoky brown with a lot of gray undertones.

Pro Tip: Trim doesn't always need to be white or white-ish. Consider a light color on the walls and ceiling and utilize a darker color on the trim. This also works of a home.

Crate & Barrel Hollis Braided Pillows

We love how simple yet elegant these pillows are.

Pro Tip: Brown being a neutral color can be a bit boring. To create interest, we recommend using in a highly patterned or textured way.

Woodwol Hardwood Brick Walnut Mosaic Wood Wall Tile

A wood accent wall is quite trendy but we love not only creating a wood wall, but one with all this texture.

Pro Tip: Wood accents don't have to be just installed on a vertical wall, consider adding wood accents on the ceiling instead.

Bed Bath & Beyond Nanshing Kath Comforter Set in Brown

Are you struggling to find bedding that balances feminine and masculine notes? Consider choosing a set in brown tones like this set that includes soft patterns and metallic accents.

Pro Tip: Don't like to go all out with color? Pair up your neutral comforter and pillows with colored sheets.

Kichler Mercel LED Chandelier in Olde Bronze

The use of linen on this chandelier shade add the perfect note of softness for your home while still providing LED lighting.

Pro Tip: It fairly commonplace to install multiple pendants over a kitchen island, but don't rule out chandeliers to accomplish the same dramatic accent.

Hayneedle Brooklyn + Max Bendrik Pouf

Poufs are a great way to add an accent to a space while actually being useful, whether for an extra seat or as an ottoman. This multi-tone in faux leather is great choice.
